Today, I’ve got something special for you guys – last weekend, we shot my favorite look of the → Chica Bolacha collection I modeled for in Brazil back in September. That’s because the collection is about to launch and since it’s cold up here in Germany – while it’s summer in Brazil (I’m sooo jealous – it’s snowing while I’m writing this post!) – I wanted to do a winter version of my favorite skirt (mer-kitties!!!) and top that I brought home with me. So instead of just adding a pair of heels, I went for a fuzzy cardigan and boots, plus my favorite fall/winter accessory: a hat. :)
And because this is a very special occasion and I’m also honored to be the first of Chica Bolacha’s → “Chica Girls”, there’s also a funny interview, which I translated for everybody who doesn’t understand Portuguese. So while enjoying the pictures, have some fun reading my answers! ;)
What’s the funniest thing that happened to you recently?
It wasn’t even that funny but I had to laugh a lot during one of our last shootings for the blog when two guys just couldn’t stop turning to see what I was doing – I guess they liked what they saw, so they kept walking, still turning after a few meters. I liked it!
If there was a movie about you, which actress would play your role and what would be the name of the movie?
I think I’d like Jennifer Lawrence for the role as me – she’s pretty cool, doesn’t keep her mouth shut to say what she’s thinking (like me!) and she looks great with short hair (which would be very important, right?) – she’d just have to get a little fatter. ;)
About the movie’s name, I don’t know – it’s pretty difficult, since I have many faces and am a different person every day, so probably it’d be a great idea to name the movie “The many faces of Luciana”. :)
Lu is a girl who loves fashion, who loves to show that being fat doesn’t mean that you have to hide yourself. I like to attract people’s attention with my special looks but at the same time I’m actually a bit shy. I love getting to know new people, making friends and talking nonsense. Lu is crazy about picanha (which doesn’t exist in Germany) and capybaras, loves her cat and prefers to stay at home watching “The Walking Dead” instead of going out to the disco. I’m calm and at the same time a total mess. :)
How do you dress to impress?
Black dress or flashy (I’ve got a neon green one), can be maxi too, and the highest heels. But I also like to put some effort in my make-up, that’s why I love wearing lipsticks with BOOM colors. :)
What’s the best and what’s the worst thing about the human race?
The best thing is love. True love and friendship are the best things we have. Doesn’t matter if it’s family love, your lover’s love, that of your friends or simply the love you feel for an animal (I can see my cat roll his eyes because I love him too much and keep squeezing him, haha!). Real friendship is one of the most important things in our lives, a friendship that doesn’t only exist for good times, for laughing and having fun, but also a friendship for bad times, for crying together and having someone you can trust.
I think the worst thing is jealousy. I already had a few experiences with people who begrudge you everything. The way people treat each other and the way many (unfortunately too many!) treat animals is horrible – a lack of kindness and a caring soul!
How’s being a plus-size woman in Germany?
Difficult. You always hear and read that being fat is no problem but if there really is really someone fat, nobody wants to see it and they always bring up that health and obesity argument. It’s very frustrating.
Three words that describe you:
Passion (with everything I do), ambition (especially with my blog and my mission to change how people see plus size) and curiosity (with new things).
Where would you go with a limitless credit card?
Definitely to an airport – I’d buy many trips around the world. And there – of course – I’d visit all shopping centers! :) Sure thing, right? First stop: Brazil! I miss it so much!
What’s the most essential piece in a stylish plus-size girl’s closet?
If I said that it’s one of those shapewear undies, it wouldn’t be very stylish, but I think that every plus-size girl should have one – not to look skinnier but to create that nice silhouette when you dress. Other than that – not only for stylish plus-size girls: a gorgeous black dress that goes with your own style.
How was it to be a part of the Chica Bolacha campaign?
It was the most incredible thing – I, as a short girl with only 1.60 m, couldn’t even be a model. Therefore, a dream came true for me. We spent a great day together, I felt very loved and was extremely happy – especially because I’m the face of that gorgeous collection, which I loveeeee! And the result is definitely amazing! I’m bursting with pride here!
