xmasandnye

#xmasandnye • Yes, I know, it’s already 2016 – but I didn’t really write about my Christmas and New Year’s Eve. So here’s a short recap. My husband and I spent Christmas alone at home (but of course we had already visited our families before at the beginning of December) – I was pretty ill and not very Christmassy, but at least I could taste the delicious food I made (duck breast with dumplings). We watched “Fear the Walking Dead” (yup – not Christmassy) and at the end of the day I even had a small glass of champagne (and I can really recommend the rosé champagne from Nicholas Feuillatte to you guys, it’s delicious!). My Christmas gift (to myself, haha!) was a rose-gold cup set from Nespresso – I’m really becoming a coffee person (finally, huh?)…
On New Year’s Eve, we had our best friends visiting us. We had raclette and lots of fun with those colorful light sticks and I lit up that little star sparkler I got from Studio Untold (thank you, I was a happy kid with it!). :)
And since 2015 was all about me being half-naked, I started the new year wearing traditional red undies. ;) By the way: → here’s my recap of 2015, just in case. ;)

curvyberlin

#curvyberlin • The first Curvy fair of the year was held last week (the next one is in summer, probably in July). It’s back in the old and very first building (which always was the best one of them all and is located very centrally in the city). To be honest, I don’t really enjoy the fair anymore, it’s become pretty boring and since most of the real fashion brands are continuously leaving (like Carmakoma and now even Zizzi, who at least held a very lovely blogger event on Tuesday in a hotel nearby, where we had the chance to see the upcoming F/W collection), for me, it’s not that interesting anymore. Also, when the fair started three years ago, brands seemed to be more interested in inviting bloggers for special presentations and small events during the fair – it’s very sad to see that this interest is totally gone now. Another point which leaves me very disappointed every time is the styles – around 80% of the clothes are exactly what I don’t want to see in stores. It’s that stuff I described in → this post. Horrible cuts, only dark colors or those who look like straight out of the toilet, animal prints made of rhinestones, looks for old women (even though I’m pretty sure not even my grandma would wear them), and when you finally find something that’s really stylish and modern, brands tell you that they probably won’t sell it to retailers because they won’t sell it to their customers. So you get that preview of amazing stuff which you’ll probably never even have the chance to buy – and this makes me really sad. Because there is potential. There are modern clothes. But just because the majority of fat customers don’t believe in themselves and prefer to buy those colorless sacks, retailers won’t order them and people will never see what’s possible. Can you understand why I’m frustrated? Another thing – but this is not meant as criticism! – is that it’s always hard to have to wait for so long, since the pieces will only be in stores around 7-9 months later. But that’s a blogger thing – if I see something cool, I want to wear it right now. Maybe if the brands at the fair would start working with bloggers again, we could shorten the waiting time by posting previews when the clothes are almost available. And anyway, we could promote the stuff that people should finally get to see! If we want a change, we have to start showing what’s possible. Not only the bloggers but also the media – but that’s another step. Let’s hope that it gets better next time. At least meeting all the nice people is always the best reason to go there, networking with other bloggers and the few brands who appreciate bloggers and their work.
By the way: my favorites at the fair were Olivier Wartowski (the best collection of the whole fair!), mable and the upcoming Anna Scholz for sheego collection.
(And of course, the food – because when I’m in Berlin, I always have to visit my favorite sushi restaurant, “Nordbahnhof – Two Buddhas”.)

#outfitpreview • Just a tiny preview of some looks to be blogged. :)

scarlettandjolondon

#scarlettandjolondon • I finally visited London again – this time with Scarlett & Jo. We shot the upcoming collections at the amazing Home House (I’ll post something about that great location soon!). We means: three ambassadors (Ana, Laura and me) and six bloggers/models – you can see us all in the picture in the middle: Mayah, Ana, Hattie, me, Kemisha, Laura, Pippa, Cerise and Sarah.
The shooting on Saturday was hard work but absolutely amazing – I can’t wait to see the results and share them with you. You can also read about it on → Scarlett & Jo’s blog. :)
Since the suites at Home House were already booked for our shootings, Ana and I (we were the two girls coming from outside of the UK) had the pleasure to spend two nights in them and all I can say is that I’m speechless. ;) This place was incredible!
I also finally met my big love again – the Hoisin Duck Wrap from Pret-a-Manger. If you haven’t tried it yet, you should as soon as you can! I’m obsessed with it!
On Sunday, I stopped by my favorite fancy hat store → Bernstock Speirs and got myself a new stylish hat. I also got to see the S&J office and was amazed by the view: you can see Borough Market, the London Eye, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Shard and Tower Bridge. A 360° view of the wonderful city of London. Can I please move in? It’s like a giant walk-in wardrobe with a view! Who’d say no to that? :) I hope I’ll be back soon and I’m looking forward to working even more with this amazing brand and those lovely people (special shoutout to → Hanna, my Finnish ystävä, she’s a sweetheart!).

random

#random • This cup deserves to be mentioned – as a real girl boss, this was the best Christmas gift ever. Thank you, sheego! The cup is from Urban Outfitters, maybe you can still get it at your nearest store, since I couldn’t find it online – sorry!
I already told you about my lucky shoe SALE finds – Céline boots that originally cost around €1200 for only €191 (crazy, right?), finally a pair of Valentino Rockstuds with 30% off and the most amazing second-hand (almost unworn) buy: Casadei ankle boots (around 60% off the original price). :) Happy me.
The last picture is a snapshot from my → #bodypositive resolutions shoot, I really love this shirt and I’m going to try to do a normal outfit with it. Stay tuned!
