From → cozy and casual directly to → the first LBD of the year – and yet another kind of business look, I guess. It’s probably because of the glasses, but whenever I take pictures with them, I feel like I’m ready to be a super important secretary. ;) I’m pretty sure that by adding more office-appropriate shoes (thinking about not-that-high, maybe suede or at least not patent leather pumps) and a blazer (maybe even a colorful one if you want to go for black with a twist), this is definitely a dress that can be worn to work. Even though it’s amazing as a classic LBD and also pretty versatile – it can look more playful thanks to the polka dots, but also very chic and classy if you add a belt, some fancy heels and maybe drop the glasses (I’m always a contact lens girl when it comes to special occasions). ;)

The dress is an amazing “new in” from Scarlett & Jo and also → available in black and white (black skirt, upper part is white), even though I must say that I absolutely prefer the all-black version. ;) Can’t go wrong with an LBD, right? ;) Here, I’m wearing my usual UK 16 again because of the bodycon fit and I’m happy to say that it fits perfectly as always. ;)

P.S.: The → S&J SALE is ending these days and if you want to get one of the amazing pieces you should hurry. There’s one of my favorites, for example, the → “Tall Wrap Dress” which you know from → this post! ;)

Today’s post could also be named “How to wear your summer dress in winter” – because this is one way to do so. :) Scarlett & Jo’s light and easy pocket dresses aren’t the best choice to wear right now because it’s horribly cold outside (especially when you’re standing on top of a parking lot at the airport – it definitely doubles the cold thanks to the wind!). But there are a few ways to leave your summer dresses in the closet and make them wearable in cold temperatures.

My look adds a warm chunky knit cardigan, warm tights and overknee boots. And for that extra splash of color: my bag love, the fuchsia “Miss Dior” (it always makes me happy when I wear it – also because of the color!), and green earrings, plus some bold make-up. ;)

This time, I was smart enough to get → the dress one size smaller than usual. I’m wearing a UK 14 because I learned that this cut (you already know it from → this dress and also → this one – I just wore them off the shoulder because they were loose enough) is very loose around the bust and since mine isn’t that big, I can size down for a better – the actual – fit. Good idea, because now it really works for me! ;)

A short while ago, I already revealed on Facebook that I’m part of the → #MeineSchönheit (#MyBeauty) campaign by Dove. It’s a huge honor to be amongst these incredibly amazing and individual women, each one of them with their own kind of beauty, even though our society tries to make them – us – feel like we’re not really a part of it. You’ll never please everybody, I’ve already said that very often, and it is definitely not your number one goal. Your number one goal should only be this: feel beautiful for yourself. Because your beauty is your choice. You don’t have to run after an ideal of beauty or femininity, an ideal which is unreachable for most of us and which we really don’t have to chase after. It’s about yourself, your uniqueness, your character, about how you feel beautiful. So my message of today’s post in collaboration with Dove is:

“My Beauty, My Say.”

And since there’s an amazing video accompanying the campaign, please watch it before you scroll down for the rest of this post…

I can definitely relate to this strong message and that’s why I’m so proud to be a part of it. I’m → representing “being plus size AND fashionable”. Because it’s still an issue that people say you can’t be fashionable when you’re fat. You can’t be stylish with “a body like that”. “Fashion is just for skinny people.” And here I am – ready to prove them wrong. ;) Or at least inspire everyone to think it all over and forget these thoughts. Fashion is for everyone!

At the beginning of this post, you can see one of my “classic” photos of my outfit posts. Today, I want to do a “Get ready with me…”, show you how this look came into being and talk about how I found my style, my way to express myself through fashion – my beauty.

Here we go – time for the first “real” outfit of the new year! I’ve saved this dress for a special post because it’s so amazing! When the Kenzo x H&M collection was launched, I was pretty sad that there were only the usual “small” sizes available – but there were a few oversized pieces which could definitely been bought and worn by plus-sized women. Like this dress! This is a EU size 40 and still huge enough for me to wear it like it’s supposed to be worn – oversized. It’s also my favorite print of the collection and I love the combination with black.

While I usually love wearing figure-hugging clothes or add a belt to make them look like it, this time, I felt like wearing a belt would ruin the whole look (even though it’s kind of cool too), so I went for the original style and yes, I love it. I feel like as a plus-sized woman people will keep saying that wearing something oversized isn’t flattering, while they’ll also scream when you can see my body (happens all the time…). So there’s no way to please everyone – and it shouldn’t be your primary mission when dressing. So here’s a resolution for the new year: if you like it – wear it. Nothing new on this blog, but I feel like I can’t say it often enough – and I want you all to promise me that you’ll stick to this resolution! Stop wearing stuff recommended by people who don’t even know you (uh, magazines – forget them!) just to please them. Stop wearing stuff that you think will make people stop thinking badly of you when you don’t even like the clothes. If you feel like wearing something that draws attention to you – wear it! If you feel like wearing something oversized that will make you look huge – wear it! If you feel like wearing something that will show every little chubby part of your body – wear it! It’s your choice – never forget this! ♥
