As you can see, the first outfit post of the year is a very special one! Today marks the 8th birthday of this blog and I’m more than proud of this! It’s incredible how many amazing things happened in all these years – just because of my little space on the Internet. I’ve not only been present online but also in magazines, on the radio and on TV – and I’m so happy to be able to share my #bodypositivity message with the world: everyBODY is beautiful.

Of course, this has been kind of a journey for myself too because I hadn’t started the blog with this message, even though I’ve never had a problem with me and my body and it would have been a great idea to make this the main topic of the blog right from the beginning. Every time I’m asked when and why I started blogging, I answer the same: “There was no intention, I was sick in bed that day and kind of bored. I had already been blogging for two years and found out that there were also blogs (not only diary blogs) about certain topics – so I found the first fashion blogs and wanted to do one myself and decided to share my outfits with the world.”

Never ever would I have thought that this day in bed would bring me so much joy (yeah, and also some pretty frustrating days – but we already talked about this), so many amazing experiences and – of course: you! It’s incredible how many you are, from all around the globe. And I’m so thankful to be able to reach you, to sometimes even change your world. Receiving your messages, not only the comments but also e-mails and even letters, is overwhelming. Reading that you tried on a dress for the first time (or for the first time in years) or that you finally went to the beach wearing a bikini and had fun instead of fear or that you saw that it’s okay to love yourself “even though” (I don’t really like to say it because it seems like it’s not okay, but it is!) you’re fat and everyone else tells you it’s not – I have no words to tell you how great that feels. How happy it makes me to have such a positive impact on your lives. To be a role model. I’m proud and that’s why I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. ♥

If there’s one wish I have (without the huge birthday cake and blowing out the candles) and may tell you: please continue to write me. I love your feedback, I love knowing that I’m being read and heard. Blogging is not a one-way thing, it’s all about interaction and being a community. So please: whenever you feel the need to say something – just do it and leave a comment or write me an e-mail or letter. I promise that I’ll always try my best to answer. I must confess that I don’t answer every comment on Facebook and Instagram (sorry about that, but everyone asking me obvious things like “where’s the dress from?” even if it’s already tagged in the picture just has to have a look up here!), but since the blog is my actual number one, here’s where you can tell me everything and count on a reply.

P.S.: I’m a bad giveaway maker, but since this is a very special occasion and it is the first time after 8 years that I really remembered the date (gosh, I’m so bad with dates and birthdays, it’s a shame…) – don’t worry, of course there’ll be a little blogiversary giveaway. Promise!

After my vintagey and super elegant Christmas look, which is the perfect choice for an opulent and glamorous party, today’s look is a bit more modern yet sophisticated and I guess if I were going to a party, this is what I’d wear. But since we already celebrated Christmas with our families at home earlier this month, tomorrow I’ll be spending a cozy and cuddly evening with my husband on the sofa – I’ll cook a nice dinner and we’ll watch a movie. And yeah – this look would be way too overdressed for it! ;)

You may remember → the stunning dress I wore at the Marina Rinaldi event at the styling session. Unfortunately, it wasn’t available anymore, but this skirt is a perfect substitute! Black and gold is such an amazing classic and still always a modern choice – depending on how you style it. I wanted it to be a young and fresh look and that’s why I went for the following accessories: The belt – the elastic band with the patent and black silver front (mixing gold and silver isn’t a taboo anymore!) dresses it all down a little bit, makes it look cool and a bit more casual. The sandals – flats aren’t the obvious choice but definitely comfy enough and a great choice if they’re as embellished as mine. Flats don’t always mean casual! The earrings – these are probably the most important part of my accessory choice because they are kind of unexpected since the bamboo hoop style is a bit more hip hop than Christmas – but they’re also embellished with tiny little golden pearls, so here we are, back at the sophisticated style. ;) You see – I’m a fan, haha! :)

Well, for now, I want to wish you all lovely holidays – whether you celebrate Christmas or not or some other holidays, I hope you spend your time with all your loved ones, happy and cozy and with loads of delicious food! Always remember: Christmas isn’t about the presents (even if they’re the best extra!) – it’s about love and we should never forget that love is the most important thing in this world – we need it. Especially these days. ♥

Christmas is coming! Time for a shiny yet casual look which you can wear for almost every occasion! Less isn’t always more, that’s why I’ve decided to do a glitter all over look for today’s outfit. :)

When I first saw the skirt at the Plus Size Fashion Days, I knew I had to buy it. I’m usually not so much of a glitter girl, but sometimes (especially during the holidays) I somehow turn into someone who needs a bit of sparkling clothes. ;) Well, this time I totally exaggerated – but I love it. :)

I’m so happy to see that → Scarlett & Jo is doing some tops at the moment. They’ve added this → gorgeous lurex tunic to their collection, together with a few simpler tops but also this → utterly beautiful kimono (NEEEEED!). I’ve already received many compliments for this sparkling top and I can definitely recommend it to you, it’s simply perfect – and also looks great with jeans! ;) I’m wearing a UK size 14 (EU size 42), which means a size smaller than usual because it’s just a top, and it fits just right!

Of course I had to do a matching make-up and kind of felt old-school because years ago I was only doing colorful make-ups and now I prefer natural looks, even though I love colors on my eyes. I truly adore these pink and purple shades and they compliment the outfit as best as possible. I even added some loose silver glitter to my lids because here, too, it just couldn’t be enough glitter… ;)

For that special casual touch (and because it was horribly cold and windy when we shot these pictures, even though the sun almost blinded me!), I wore a super chunky knit cardi (one of my best buys ever some years ago).

It’s been some time since you last saw me with my glasses on – so after the pants I thought it would be nice to bring them back for a special post. They’re on my nose every day but I somehow prefer not to wear them for our shoots. This time, they were exactly what the look needed to be perfect. ;) I guess I should show them more often – glasses can definitely be a great accessory, even if you don’t need them (I do, I’m kind of a mole without them). ;)

But the main actor of today’s post is the plush jacket. I don’t support fur and actually, wearing fake fur isn’t the best idea either because even fake fur can sometimes be real fur and you should definitely check first before you buy or just don’t do it at all. I don’t want to make this post a discussion about morals because I don’t judge people who like fur and I don’t see myself in a position to judge because I eat meat and wear leather, so it’d be kind of hypocritical to do so. Still, I believe that we’re living in a world where fur is pure luxury and not needed – and it is so wrong how mankind “produces” fur products. Anyways, fake fur is definitely a better option if you can’t do without it, and yes, as a style blogger I do like the look of fake fur in winter – especially when it’s such an amazing jacket.

When I went to the market place of → this year’s PSFD, I saw → myPePita’s booth and the jacket instantly caught my eye. It’s such a wonderfully different color combo, a very light gray with a kind of blueish glow, mixed with red and brown and these bold black tiger-like stripes. It’s a statement piece for sure! And the plushy feel ist so soft and great, you won’t even want this to be real fur, it’s more like a cuddly teddy bear that’s warming you. ;) I’m so in love with that jacket and after checking the online store, I found many other pieces I really like – you should definitely have a look at myPePita because it’s another stylish plus-size shop (from EU size 42) which offers actual fashion! And if you feel like ordering, I’ve got something for you – get 15% off your order by using the code Lu1116 at the checkout. :)

First, I wanted to do a look with a flared black dress, but then I decided to do another outfit with my beloved “Lola” dress from Beth Ditto. I love the combo with the dove-gray dress and black details, it’s definitely more interesting than the obvious choice, which is black. Also, it’s good to wear something tight underneath the huge jacket. It will still show your body shape. For some extra attention on the waist (another figure saver and hourglass figure creator, even when you can’t see the whole silhouette), I added a black belt.
