[Werbung | Advertisement – I spent a night for free during an event in this hotel, but I wasn’t paid to write about it.]

It’s been some time since my last night in Berlin – luckily, this one was one of the best I’ve ever had. This post will be a high recommendation of the hotel, since I really loved my room and I also enjoyed the friendly staff (even though we barely had some contact, just during the check-in and check-out but they were extremely kind).

I love the kind of industrial style of the room and the fancy pictures of Berlin’s “Neptunbrunnen” on the lamps and also the bathroom window.

The bed was extremely cozy and I slept like a baby – which was much needed because the event’s party night was looong! Nevertheless, I also had some spare time in my room and spent the afternoon in bed, watching TV (they even have a few Sky channels), so I had the chance to enjoy it all a little bit, even though I had to leave for the evening/night.

Unfortunately, I had no time for breakfast but I’m sure it’s great. Anyways, I’ve got a special café recommendation for you: “Einstein Kaffee” at the Alexanderplatz – they have the most delicious cheesecake (it’s horribly pricey but totally worth it) and a wide range of coffee to choose.

I hope you’ll enjoy my impressions of the room!

In the beginning of January, I went to a very special store opening – “Vollkommen.Braut.” is a curvy bridal concept store and as you can imagine, this means: plus-size pleasure all around. :)

I somehow made the mistake not to try on a wedding dress during the preparations for our wedding because I thought that since it was only a civil wedding, I didn’t need a “real” dress and would only be sad after trying a few on. Well, I was right – but I also missed the incredible feeling of looking like a princess and how amazing it is to wear a wedding dress. Even if it’s only for a few pictures during an event. I mean: how stunning must it be to try on dresses for your wedding and then finding “the one” (to be honest, I think I even found it that day, but that’s a different story, haha!)?

But let’s talk about the store: I decided to do a little post about it because I’m sure that there are a few brides-to-be out there searching for THE DRESS. :) The selection at “Vollkommen.Braut.” starts from EU size 44 and goes up to a 58+, featuring brands like Callista (I’d say that this is the brand you have to try!), Bridalstar, Romantica of Devon, Lohrengel and Ladybird. And of course, since this is a concept store, you won’t only find dresses but also accessories and shoes and loads of inspiration. The collaborating local stores and service providers are “Curvy Shapes” (lingerie), “Bunny & Scott” (cupcakes and cakepops), “urban spa” (beauty), “Blütezeit” (florist), “Marryhair” (hair stylist), “Carmen Boch” (goldsmith) and “Wortkunst mit Herz” (speeches and weddings).

The store isn’t too big but that’s just what makes it perfect. Making an appointment means that you’ll have the whole store just for yourself and your family and friends, so you can try on your favorite dresses with no stress, nobody watching and therefore be totally relaxed. The two owners, Regina and Nora, are absolute pros when it comes to bridal dresses and will assist you perfectly!

After the click you’ll find some impressions of the day, including a few cellphone snapshots of me wearing some amazing dresses! ;)

P.S.: If you book an appointment and mention that I’m the one who brought you there, you’ll receive a so-called “Welcome Pass”, which means you will be gifted a voucher for an accessory that matches your dress. ♥

From October 28 to 30, it was finally time for the Plus Size Fashion Days again. I’ve been super excited because this year, I was booked more often than last time, got the chance to present a piece designed by me and was part of the → “BODYLOVE” walk by Silvana Denker and Happy Size (which meant: getting almost naked again!).

Like last year, because of the catwalk training, fitting and rehearsals, unfortunately I had no time to visit the workshops and daytime events around the show, so I can’t tell you more about them, but I visited the opening party and on the last day, I was able to have a look at the marketplace. All in all, these were some super busy and positively stressful days, just like last year. The feelings are intense during the preparations, it’s a mixture of happiness (especially because of all those amazing people, the atmosphere is super friendly and helpful and I absolutely appreciate this! ♥) and nervousness, a bit of fear (“Will I trip on the catwalk?”) and loads of excitement. The adrenaline level seconds before the first walk is incredibly high and the feeling when you step out into the light, pose and see all the faces looking at you is amazing. Oh, the goosebumps! It’s simply great. And the best reward for everything you’ve done the days before the show.

Last week, I went to a very special event with five amazing girls – from left to right: Cécile, Sofia, Farina, me, Sophia and Verena. We were invited by → C&A to talk about strong women and how fashion influences personalities, and for a makeover which each of us did for another girl. I was styled by Sophia and had the pleasure to dress up Verena. It was an exciting day and we had lots of fun together, as you can see in the pictures! ;)

There’s also a video up on the → C&A Blog, don’t forget to watch it! ;)

I’ve already talked about the effect of fashion and everything that’s possible with it in my → last post, but I want to say again how fascinating it is that fashion is able to either influence and enhance someone’s personality or change it (in a positive way). However you feel on a day, you can make your style look like it or give it a completely different touch. You can accentuate special features of yourself or – if you feel like it – hide something you’re not 100% happy with. Fashion is for everyone and that’s why we shouldn’t be limited in our possibilities. Even though our bodies are different, we should all be able to wear whatever we want, whether we’re skinny or fat, tall or short, blonde or brunette,… Let’s all express ourselves through fashion!

Dressing up someone else can be super easy if you know this person. It’s funny how you instantly know what you want her to wear when you do this kind of makeover. And even if you don’t, it’s cool to see how you can make the person look and maybe even influence her own style. It was great to see our makeovers at the end of the day – everybody chose the right look for the other girl – and I think that we all look absolutely amazing!
