My last look of the exclusive lookbook I created for the Anna Scholz x sheego collection is all about this black lace dress, a very classic piece. And it’s also one of my inspirational outfits for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. There will be a few more coming so you can get ready for all the upcoming festive occasions. :)

Black is always a great choice for any party and especially lace dresses are absolutely classy and look great on every woman. This dress has a V-neck and transparent short sleeves, a formfitting and curve-hugging cut and the perfect length for formal occasions, that’s why I went for a more elegant style for our editorial. I guess you could wear this for your Christmas party at work! ;)

Instead of wearing obvious black heels, I picked nude platform sandals – they’re a bit more special and the color is great to make your legs look a bit longer (which is great for me, since I’m so small!). I also added silver jewelry and a red clutch that matches my lipstick (but I chose two different reds to make it a little more interesting!).

This dress doesn’t need more details around it, but, for example, you could also wear it with a belt, or add a blazer, wear it with black pumps or in this case with red ones, you could style it more casually with a leather jacket or a denim jacket in summer – since it’s a classic piece and black is extremely versatile, there are so many ways to wear it, you just have to be creative! :)

Of course, there’s also a special blog post available on → sheego’s blog “feel happy!”, where you can find more information about my make-up, including tips on how to create perfect red lips!

I still have a few fall looks that I haven’t posted yet, so even though it’s already almost winter here, I don’t want to leave them unposted on my PC (by the way: yes, I do work on a PC, not a laptop – guess I’m not a typical blogger, huh?). Maybe where you live it’s still warm enough to use them as inspiration, and if not, just be creative and make them work for you (maybe with other boots, warm tights and a beanie?) or save them for next year. ;) There’s always a way! :)

That’s one of my #ruebabe looks I created with my surprise package from → Rue 107 – and again kind of a challenge, since cropped is not really the best choice in fall. But as I said: there’s always a way, and mine was to wear it with a chunky wool cardigan – cozy and warm, so don’t worry about the small stripe of skin! ;)

To be honest, I never would have chosen this skirt by myself – I’m not that “food on my clothes” kind of person, so my first thought was to just wear the shirt and store the skirt somewhere in my closet. But when I tried it on (I always do that before deciding – because everything [and everyone!!!] deserves a chance, and even though you may sometimes think that a piece isn’t made for you and won’t look good, it might become your best friend!), I really liked it. It’s cute and actually looks so nice in that combination (and especially the scenario with the colorful fallen leaves!), that I wouldn’t want to give it away! ;)

Fashion is fun – at least that’s how I see it. I love trying new things, getting experimental and mixing stuff, being someone else every day. One day I’m girly and retro, the other day I wear sporty sneakers and look rather casual. Actually, I don’t know how to call today’s style, it’s definitely a crazy mixture: sheer body, casual dress and suede sneakers with a metal toe cap. It’s not a typical Lu style but I totally love it, even though it’s been hard for me to wear sneakers with my dress. Gosh, I think whenever someone asks me about fashion faux pas, I always mention white boots and pairing sneakers with dresses – but normally I mean floral summer dresses, at least this one is pretty minimal and therefore not THAT bad, right? And even white boots can look pretty cool, depends on your style and your attitude! ;)

So, how did this happen? I wanted to find something different for my sneakers – I fell in love with them the second I spotted them online. Actually, I love sneakers, I just don’t really like wearing them, I think they don’t look that good on me. But there are so many wonderful designs – like this one. That’s why I wanted to give them a special “setting”. :)

I also wanted to style the dress in another way – you’ve already seen my Kardashian version → here, very feminine and curvy, so today it’s totally casual. Since it’s pretty cold already, no sleeves were no option, and with a jacket the dress looked totally awkward, don’t know why. But I had the idea of wearing a body underneath – with some special sleeves. On top, I found this hat from my grandmother last time we visited my parents and thought it was pretty cool, and it made the outfit complete.

I think it’s really something different, especially if you know me and my looks, but that’s the point: be creative! That’s what fashion is for. It’s okay to stay in your “comfort zone”, it’s okay to prefer flattering clothes and it’s okay if you don’t want to get crazy, but: it’s also okay to break out of your “comfort zone”, it’s okay to say “eff flattering” and wear whatever you want, and it’s absolutely okay to get crazy. There are no rules, no limits, no actual fashion faux-pas. You’re free!

My favorite piece of the whole collection is this parka – just because it’s something very different and I like outstanding stuff. ;) And of course because the parka is just gorgeous. The Japanese-inspired embroidery is such a great highlight and makes the casual parka very special.
I still went for a more casual combination, with jeans and a warm sweater, but of course not without some extra sparkle – my sequined sneakers definitely completed the look and made it even more “me”!

I also decided to do a very natural make-up, and today you’ll find some tips on how to do a “no-make-up make-up” on → sheego’s blog “feel happy!”, so don’t forget to have a look!
