I am so incredibly happy to finally share this very special editorial with you! It’s been such a lovely day at the beginning of May – perfect summer weather, perfect wedding conditions! ;)

This post is dedicated to all future curvy brides and to my husband who finally had the chance to see (and photograph) his wife not only in one beautiful wedding dress but three, even though we “just” had a civil wedding. Maybe another day… ;)

I’ve teamed up with → Vollkommen.Braut. – our local “Curvy Bridal Concept Store” in Hamburg – for a very special collab: we want to show you that being plus-size doesn’t mean you have to lose weight to wear the dress of your choice, that you can’t wear an actual wedding dress on your big day. You don’t need to give up feeling like a princess, wearing loads of tulle and lace. And you definitely don’t need to wear one of these little jackets or let the tailor add some sleeves to your favorite dress.

You’re the bride – it’s your choice. And you can’t imagine what an overwhelming feeling it is to step outside in such a stunning dress, all ready to say “I do.” and spend one of the most amazing days of your life. Never let anyone dull your sparkle you’ll have when you’re all happy in one of these dresses. And don’t you dare to say “I wish I could wear such a dream, but I’m too fat!” cause you’re not. Believe me, you’ll regret it when you don’t do what your heart wants you to do (or in this case: to wear).

The selection of plus-sized bridal dresses isn’t as small as you’d think – there are so many gorgeous dresses, you’ll probably go crazy when you see them all. My favorite brand has to be Callista and → Vollkommen.Braut. is Germany’s exclusive retailer of their creations. So if you’re not sure where to go to find YOUR dress – book a short trip to Hamburg with your girls, spend a lovely afternoon with the ladies of Vollkommen.Braut. and celebrate your bachelorette party in this wonderful town! :)

In the beginning of January, I went to a very special store opening – “Vollkommen.Braut.” is a curvy bridal concept store and as you can imagine, this means: plus-size pleasure all around. :)

I somehow made the mistake not to try on a wedding dress during the preparations for our wedding because I thought that since it was only a civil wedding, I didn’t need a “real” dress and would only be sad after trying a few on. Well, I was right – but I also missed the incredible feeling of looking like a princess and how amazing it is to wear a wedding dress. Even if it’s only for a few pictures during an event. I mean: how stunning must it be to try on dresses for your wedding and then finding “the one” (to be honest, I think I even found it that day, but that’s a different story, haha!)?

But let’s talk about the store: I decided to do a little post about it because I’m sure that there are a few brides-to-be out there searching for THE DRESS. :) The selection at “Vollkommen.Braut.” starts from EU size 44 and goes up to a 58+, featuring brands like Callista (I’d say that this is the brand you have to try!), Bridalstar, Romantica of Devon, Lohrengel and Ladybird. And of course, since this is a concept store, you won’t only find dresses but also accessories and shoes and loads of inspiration. The collaborating local stores and service providers are “Curvy Shapes” (lingerie), “Bunny & Scott” (cupcakes and cakepops), “urban spa” (beauty), “Blütezeit” (florist), “Marryhair” (hair stylist), “Carmen Boch” (goldsmith) and “Wortkunst mit Herz” (speeches and weddings).

The store isn’t too big but that’s just what makes it perfect. Making an appointment means that you’ll have the whole store just for yourself and your family and friends, so you can try on your favorite dresses with no stress, nobody watching and therefore be totally relaxed. The two owners, Regina and Nora, are absolute pros when it comes to bridal dresses and will assist you perfectly!

After the click you’ll find some impressions of the day, including a few cellphone snapshots of me wearing some amazing dresses! ;)

P.S.: If you book an appointment and mention that I’m the one who brought you there, you’ll receive a so-called “Welcome Pass”, which means you will be gifted a voucher for an accessory that matches your dress. ♥

• Recap & Thoughts | #BeachBodyNotSorry 2016 •

It’s already pretty cold outside but I still want to quickly talk about this year’s #BeachBodyNotSorry project and have a look at the beach outfits I wore this season. I kind of felt that plus-sized beach bodies were more present than ever in 2016. Of course there were a few very important moments like → Ashley Graham on the cover of “Sports Illustrated” or the most recent → “All Woman Project” launched by Clementine Desseaux and Charli Howard (featuring some amazing beach wear by Phylyda – I hope I can work with this brand next year!). But we also had bloggers showing their beach bodies everywhere and it makes me proud to say that I’m a part of this – again.

Unfortunately, this time I couldn’t show as many looks as → last year – on the one hand, there simply was a lack of new beach wear (I just didn’t want to wear everything again, but neither did I want to spend loads of money on new stuff – cause our summer in Germany isn’t long enough to hoard uncountable masses of bikinis and swimsuits), on the other hand, I missed almost 90% of our summer because I was very sick. Even beginning to shoot before the start of the official beach season wasn’t that helpful, so I only managed to do five looks (plus two “covered” beach styles, meaning: one with a kaftan and another one wearing transparent stuff over my bikini).

So let’s recap my #BeachBodyNotSorry looks of 2016…

Last Saturday, I went to the → Murek Hamburg headquarters for a great blogger event. The brand presented its current summer collection and a preview of the upcoming winter collection, and we had the chance to create our own styles with the summer pieces. We also got the chance to pre-order our favorites of the winter collection and we probably all fell in love with one special jacket, so keep your eyes open around August – you’ll see it a lot and (I’m pretty sure about this) many different styles with it!

Murek Hamburg is a German brand for occasional wear based in Hamburg. They’re already over 60 years old – which means they’re really experienced in their niche and they really know about fit. Since they’re already established around the world, especially in the Arabian region and Belgium, they now want to get known better here in Germany – and we bloggers want to help, because even though there are a few pieces that are definitely a bit old-fashioned (and have too many rhinestones on them – but here’s something cool: you can order everything without them if you don’t like these little stones!), this brand has potential. And their speciality is plus size because their best-selling sizes are EU48-50 (their sizes go up to 56). So they know what they’re talking about if it’s about plus-size occasional wear. ;)
I think we gave them some good ideas on how to improve the modern style of the brand and I’m pretty sure we’ll see a lot of Murek’s great fashion in the future (of course also up here on the blog because I can’t wait to style my three pieces of the winter collection)!

In order to show what amazing styles you can do with their clothes – not only for special occasions but also day wear – we had a great shoot and I want to share all looks with you. :)
