I can’t even say how much I enjoyed going out for dinner in Rio. :) Those two luxurious dinners we had (find my post about our dinner at the “Mee” → here), were definitely two highlights of our vacation. Not just because it’s luxury, the food was simply delicious! And this is coming from someone who’s normally not very interested in Italian food (gosh, many people will think I’m crazy, right?). I don’t really care about pizza and pasta, but this time I wanted to give it a try, especially because the FASANO is known for its great food, including sea food. But if there’s something that I’m even less interested in, then it’s sea food (well, except for oysters, haha!) and cooked fish (but please give me anything raw – one day I’ll become a sushi myself!). So I chose a few classics from the Italian cuisine and I wasn’t disappointed. In fact, this was one of the best dinners I ever had and I can definitely recommend booking a table and enjoying dinner at the “FASANO al mare” – maybe even the same dishes I had. ;)

Back in Germany, it’s not only time to unpack the suitcases (check!) but also to remember the good times and incredible experiences we had in Rio de Janeiro. The city doesn’t only offer beautiful places but also great food (don’t miss the chance to eat your way through ALL of the fruits, and of course, if you love meat, you have to try a “churrasco”, for example at “Carretão” in Ipanema).
Since I was little, one of my biggest dreams has been to visit the hotel “Copacabana Palace”, THE legend of Rio and the place where all the rich and famous stay. The building is on Avenida Atlântica, the street running along the beach of Copacabana, and is definitely a gem – one of the most beautiful buildings I’ve ever seen. Of course, I was very curious to see how it looked inside! So as we were on vacation, plus the exchange rate from euros to reais was pretty nice, we took our chance and booked a table at their Asian (actually Pan-Asian) restaurant “Mee”. There’s also a great Italian restaurant at the Copacabana Palace, the “Cipriani”, but as we already had dinner at the FASANO in Ipanema the night before (blog post coming!), we went for this exotic dinner. And we were pretty lucky that night – not only was the dinner extremely good, but we also had some famous company: thanks to “Rock in Rio”, there were some celebrities dining next to us – Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper, Tommy Lee, Guns N’ Roses,… (we probably just didn’t recognize the rest of them!). Pretty exciting, huh? :)

Sushi Tasting starts from 23,50 €
(Sushi  á la Chef – Starters)
and is also
available as voucher for 45,- €

If you’re a sushi lover like me, you’d better not skip a visit to the → east Hamburg for some uber-yummy sushi.
A few weeks ago I was invited to a “Sushi Tasting” and believe me: this was one of the most delicious evenings ever!

I really enjoy sushi and already visited a bunch of restaurants, from cheap to expensive, here in Hamburg, in my hometown, all over Germany and even in Brazil (by the way: that’s where I grew to love it!). One day I’ll probably transform into a tiny little nigiri and eat myself. ;) Fact is: wherever I go, I like to try sushi when I’m hungry.
That’s why the Sushi Tasting was extremely interesting for me and, of course, my expectations were high, as I knew that this was going to be a great experience. The east is well-known for its gastronomy and a place to be in Hamburg. The restaurant offers not only sushi, but to be honest: after this great menu, I don’t even want to eat something else there. ;) But I’ll definitely give it a try (there are some nice dishes on their menu)!

When you enter the hotel, it’s more like entering a stylish restaurant, with a big lobby, Yakshi’s Bar and two lounges. It’s a pleasure to walk in, walk along the bar (or even stay for a little cocktail – I can highly recommend the non-alcoholic “Green Manga”!) and go downstairs to take your seat in the restaurant. The location is extremely beautiful, based on an old iron foundry, the façade of which was maintained and which gives it a very special touch, cozy and still luxurious. It reminds me of a wine cellar, which is a perfect association, as their wine card includes a wide selection of wines and champagne. This evening, I stuck to one of their east exclusives, which was the perfect choice for my sushi.

EN#outfitpreviewSummer’s arrived in Hamburg (well, more or less – it’s always a coming and going), so yesterday we even spent our afternoon at the beach shooting a suitable beach look. And I think it’s about time to finally reveal that the blog is going to be relaunched soon, so we’re still playing busy bees shooting every weekend. :) There are some new outfit styles coming, as you can see – there’s a look with a crop top, the beach look, and also a short jumpsuit. I can’t wait to finally blog outfits with my (by now) blonde hair, but I first want to be done with all “old” looks from May (gosh, there’s still so much to show you!).

EN#eventYou already know my article → about plus size and body acceptance which I wrote after my visit to the PrimaDonna Lingerie 150 Year Anniversary Show, so today I want to talk a little bit about the event in Brussels. It was my second visit to Brussels (in 2008 I went on a school trip with my class and we visited the parliament), unfortunately there wasn’t enough time to see much of the city, but I had a great time at the event with some international bloggers. :) We first had a delicious lunch at “Kwint”, then headed over to the “Bozar” (Palais des Beaux-Arts), where we first had the chance to see some vintage lingerie (starting from 1920!) and the evolution of PrimaDonna Lingerie. Plus got some information on how a well-fitting bra does not only support your breasts but also your whole posture. PrimaDonna Lingerie especially makes bras for bigger cups (which has nothing to do with plus size, by the way! ;)), but also starting at a B-cup (until J). Each bra is handmade of 45 individual pieces and at the end definitely a piece of high quality. After the expo, we had the pleasure to be seated in the front row for a fashion show, with top model Myla Dalbesio and other beautiful women of absolutely normal sizes (and it was so great to see those beautiful bodies, which were perfect just the way there were) first presenting some of the vintage corsets and basques, then some pieces of the current collection and a swimwear preview. After that, we were surprisingly invited by the “Bozar” to have a look at their current exposition “The Belgians – An unexpected fashion story”. Unfortunately, it was time to get back to the airport way too soon so we had to hurry through the fancy clothes and couldn’t see enough.
Maybe you’re interested in PrimaDonna Lingerie now – me too. I’ll see if I can work on something together with them and write a bigger article on the brand? Let me know if you’d appreciate this! ;)

EN#anotherevent Last weekend, I attended the “Panda Eyes” event by Nivea here in Hamburg. It was a great evening all about panda eyes (or how you can swipe them away under the shower with Nivea’s newest product), starting with delicious cocktails at the east hotel and smoky panda eyes for everyone (and I actually don’t like to be made up by someone else, but my make-up artist was great!) and – after a small city tour through Hamburg in a limousine – ending at the coast by east restaurant, where we had a very tasty menu including panda sushi and even panda cotta! ;) I missed the next day because I wasn’t feeling very good after fainting the morning the day before (too much stress and extremely muggy weather – not the best combination!), but the evening was all worth it. It was a lovely event!

EN#fanartIt’s always such an incredible surprise when someone draws me – this time, I received this beautiful illustration directly from Brazil and I absolutely love it (it’s my new cellphone background, don’t judge me! ;)). Have a look at → Natália’s facebook page!
