I mostly show you my daytime or event looks and usually they’re rather classic (yet extravagant), but this time, I want to show you a sexy night-out look. ;)

Since I really loved Beth Ditto’s first collection, I had to buy a last piece of it. Especially because I’ve got → the “Lola” dress and know how amazing it fits and looks and that it is probably the only tight dress with a pencil skirt cut that works with my figure, I ordered the “Lola” skirt some time ago. Pencil skirts have always been something I’ve avoided because I know that their cut isn’t made for my waist-to-hip ratio and they look like a sack because they’re not tight enough at the legs for the real pencil skirt look. So when I got the dress and saw how great it was, I decided to get the skirt when it was finally a bit cheaper (since I got so many pieces of the collection, it was about time I saved some money). The whole collection is now on its final sale and it’s almost completely sold out (the skirt is only still available in sizes 24 and 26!), so if you waited for the lowest price to get something, you gotta order now before the next collection comes in. ;)

The body is definitely a daring piece and yes, I know that my boobs aren’t as perfect as many would like to see them when wearing such a low neckline. But let me tell you: I’m happy like this. I love this look, I love my breasts (even though they’re seriously not easy when it comes to bra shopping – but → here’s a shopping tip for everyone in or coming to Hamburg!) and I like showing them packed or rather unpacked like this. I don’t get why women are forced to look like in a magazine, where everything’s photoshopped in order not to look saggy or lumpy, where women are retouched to look “unreal” and unreachable so we think that we’re not okay as we are and have to go on diets, work out more than before and maybe even do plastic surgery because that’s the last option to achieve this look. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that I’m against the “optimization” of ourselves, but I want you to know and understand that we don’t have to feel forced to look like something we’re not. And we don’t have to feel bad when we look at those pictures of women who look “perfect” while we can be perfect for ourselves by simply accepting that we’re great – just as we are.

And since I’ve been writing about boobs: take care of yours. It’s breast cancer awareness month and even though I’m not doing a special post about it, I want to spread awareness and tell you to always check your breasts for knots and lumps. I like to do it under the shower, just take two minutes and palpate them for any abnormalities. It’s important to do this regularly so you know your breasts and feel when something’s wrong. When diagnosed early, breast cancer has good chances for cure, so take your time and care for yourself. Do it today and make sure everything’s fine!

It’s finally looking like fall on the blog, right? :) Today’s look is a tribute to my mom, who created it. The shirt and skirt are hand-sewn by her and I truly love them together (you already know the shirt, just have a look at the “style it differently” section at the end of this post!), they’re a perfect match.

Since I finally own a brown bag (yup, it was about time!), I went for a warm and soft look, adding brown details and beige shoes (matching the lipstick). Of course, black would’ve been a good choice, as always, but I think that it all harmonizes best with brown. More fall-like. ;)

I think this could be a good business look too, maybe with opaque tights and pumps instead of the platform sandals. You can also add a tailored blazer and you’re ready for your next meeting at work – and you’ll still look very feminine.
I get asked a lot to post more business styles, but since I don’t have a classic job and no experience with these kinds of outfits, I’m definitely not the best source for that. Also, I truly love experimental and extravagant looks – so please forgive me if they’re not always the go-to choice for everyday looks and office-job styles. ;) I want to share my own style, which is something different, I know, but maybe from time to time, there’s also some inspiration for a business look – just like today. ;)

Today’s post title is about the weather when we shot this look – it looked super lovely when we arrived at the location, the sun was shining and it was warm and just a bit windy (like every day in Hamburg), but suddenly the sky turned very, very dark – you can see it in the video! – and we had to hurry. The moment we finished, it started to rain cats and dogs – talk about timing, huh? ;)

Isn’t it funny that just a few days ago, a friend asked me if it’s possible to wear flat sandals with maxi skirts? I think this is the perfect answer! ;) Of course you can wear flats when you wear maxi pieces. It’s certainly true that they won’t make you look taller, but if you’re as short as I am, it doesn’t even matter. Actually, it never matters, as long as you feel good in what you’re wearing – right? And let’s be honest: flats are always more comfy, so they’re always a good choice. ;)

I actually wanted to name this post “Os quindins de yayá” because the whole look reminds me of one of my favorite childhood movies, “The Three Caballeros”, with Donald Duck, José Carioca and Panchito – there’s a scene where they travel to Bahia and meet Aurora Miranda, Carmen Miranda’s younger sister, and → she sings this song called “Os quindins de yayá” wearing a typical look from Bahia. I think my look is a modern and more minimalistic version of it and that’s where the actual idea for today’s post title came from. But I went for “Level 5” cause that’s where we shot the photos and it’s a bit easier and doesn’t need any explanation. ;)

So, I’m back with another head wrap and a Carmen (Miranda, haha!) top, which I wore with a black maxi skirt for a casual and relaxed summer look. And since I’m currently so in love with → Urban Decay’s “XX Vice LTD Reloaded” palette, I did a very special colorful make-up that’s supposed to match the silk scarf turban. Even though I love natural make-ups (well, only talking about the eyes), I’m having fun doing color bombs at the moment – the palette made me do it and I’m actually very happy about this! Somehow I’m going back to the (blog’s) roots, when everything was more experimental and colorful – even though I’m happy that my fashion style changed a lot. ;)
