Here’s the last piece of my little Marina Rinaldi x Stella Jean series on the blog – I promised you a color bomb and there it is! :) This dress is my absolute favorite of the whole collection, it’s just so perfect and beautiful and such a great piece for summer! I love that Frida Kahlo vibe it has and even though it is super colorful, it’s so much fun to over-colorize with accessories, for example with statement sunnies. First, I thought they could be too much, but then I was like “why not?” and actually love the combo (which was much needed because the sun was super bright on that day!). Instead of wearing the obvious red lipstick which I already wore to the Stella Jean FW event in February, I went for pink and also added my pink Dior earrings for that extra dab of color. ;)

Yeah, I’m currently doing a few series, I guess. There’s not only one piece missing in my Marina Rinaldi x Stella Jean trilogy but I also still had this amazing crop top from H&M’s last designer collaboration in my closet waiting for spring – so here we are! :)

Even though we’ve been fighting a lot for plus size acceptance (in fashion), crop tops are still an issue. I totally understand if it’s simply not someone’s taste to show your tummy, but it’s also important to accept if someone wants to wear cropped clothes – and yes, this also includes fat women. Because there’s no such thing as “this is only reserved for skinny girls”. ;)

I liked many pieces of the collection with Kenzo but this print was my favorite, that’s why I bought two pieces with it – this crop top and, as you already know, → this dress. I’ll definitely be wearing the dress again this spring/summer because it’s so light and easy to wear, but this top is also super cool and will be a great addition to any other skirt or jeans. We already had a few warm days here but it’s currently super disgusting outside, rainy and cold, and I really hope that the sun comes back as soon as possible – I can’t take this bad weather anymore!

Green is my favorite color – and I truly love khaki green, it’s the shade of green that fascinates me the most. Of course, I was instantly in love when I saw that Anna Scholz created a → khaki green lace dress for the new collection in collaboration with sheego and I knew that it was going to be one of the three pieces I’d choose for → my lookbook.

Not only is this dress super comfy because of the very soft fabric but it’s also easy to wear in different styles. You can wear it casually with espadrilles and a denim jacket, for example, or style it more elegantly with high heels and some statement jewelry.

I’ve decided to go for a modern but chic look and therefore did some expected and also some unexpected accessorizing. First, the shoes – I guess, black is always the safe choice, but I kinda felt like it would be a bit too dark since the dress already has a black base and I wanted to loosen it all up. That’s why I went for beige. And then, there’s the belt – of course, the dress looks nice without it, but I went for a size up (46 instead of 44 like with most of the Anna Scholz for sheego dresses) and that’s why the waistline was a bit too loose and also too low for my body shape. Nothing a belt can’t fix. ;) And I love accentuating my waist, so it was kind of obvious that I’d go for a belt.

Here we go – time for the first “real” outfit of the new year! I’ve saved this dress for a special post because it’s so amazing! When the Kenzo x H&M collection was launched, I was pretty sad that there were only the usual “small” sizes available – but there were a few oversized pieces which could definitely been bought and worn by plus-sized women. Like this dress! This is a EU size 40 and still huge enough for me to wear it like it’s supposed to be worn – oversized. It’s also my favorite print of the collection and I love the combination with black.

While I usually love wearing figure-hugging clothes or add a belt to make them look like it, this time, I felt like wearing a belt would ruin the whole look (even though it’s kind of cool too), so I went for the original style and yes, I love it. I feel like as a plus-sized woman people will keep saying that wearing something oversized isn’t flattering, while they’ll also scream when you can see my body (happens all the time…). So there’s no way to please everyone – and it shouldn’t be your primary mission when dressing. So here’s a resolution for the new year: if you like it – wear it. Nothing new on this blog, but I feel like I can’t say it often enough – and I want you all to promise me that you’ll stick to this resolution! Stop wearing stuff recommended by people who don’t even know you (uh, magazines – forget them!) just to please them. Stop wearing stuff that you think will make people stop thinking badly of you when you don’t even like the clothes. If you feel like wearing something that draws attention to you – wear it! If you feel like wearing something oversized that will make you look huge – wear it! If you feel like wearing something that will show every little chubby part of your body – wear it! It’s your choice – never forget this! ♥
