So here we are again – the last look of 2016! Of course, the outfit for New Year’s Eve has to be a super sparkling one – so it’s either my → glitter all over look or this one, which is kind of the same because the dress is made of the same fabric as the shirt, but of course it’s totally different. ;)

For my New Year’s Eve look I’m wearing a → wonderful dress from Scarlett & Jo and I love it so much because of the colors: navy blue and rosé gold glitter! What a great combo! It’s just not that easy to see in the pictures (especially because the light outside has been horribly bad for taking pictures…). If you’re not that much of an experimental girl, you can also go for the classic options black & silver (like my shirt) or “Black Sky” (black with blue glitter). Every color is amazing! And it’s on sale! ;) I’m wearing my usual UK size 16.

I actually wanted to go for beige heels but decided that black would be a better idea so I could add a clutch. My accessory choice is pretty basic, but that’s why I went for matching rosé gold earrings and a dramatic make-up plus some kind of vintage hairdo (it’s not easy to style my hair at the moment since this is a bad interim hairstyle, but let’s just wait and see what happens next…).

Well, this is my last post for 2016 and I wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR! See you in 2017 in a few days! :)

As promised, here comes my look for the Plus Size Fashion Days 2016 opening party! It was a motto party and the dress code of the evening was “Black & Gold and All That Glitters” – I took it all very seriously and already prepared my outfit months before. You know I love being overdressed, and when there’s a party, you can do so many things. I’m so happy that I saw lots of wonderfully dressed women (and men!) that night!

Back in January at the photo shoot with Scarlett & Jo in London, I saw → the golden Couture dress for the first time when Ana wore it – and I fell in love. I had to wait a bit until it was finally available online, and as soon as I knew the dress code, I told my friends there that this was the dress I wanted to wear for the party. And I also asked them for a little goody for my husband – a matching bow tie made of the same fabric as my dress. And I’m so thankful that they made it happen! :) These guys are simply amazing and I’m so happy that I’ve been part of their team as their brand ambassador for almost a year now, isn’t this crazy? Time is a little runner, haha! ;)

So, this dress is absolutely stunning and I guess you can’t go wrong with it for the festive season, especially Christmas. To be honest, when I wore it, it reminded me of the → “Nürnberger Christkind” and her lovely costume (maybe because of the sleeves). Don’t know if you all know the “Christkindlesmarkt”, but it’s huge and one of the best-known Christmas markets in the world, so if you don’t know it yet and are coming to Germany, you should have a look! :) But that’s just a fun fact. ;) I’m wearing the dress in a UK size 16, as usual, and as you can see, it fits perfectly. I’d say that if you have more bust, this dress will still work for you, as I had the feeling that there’s enough space left for more. :) The fabric is pretty elastic and has a great touch and feel – it definitely deserves the “Couture” stamp!

For the glam effect, I decided to let the dress speak for itself but add fancy black accessories and do another matchy-matchy thing with the clutch and my lips – it just screamed for black lipstick (well, in my case it’s eye liner). ;) For lots of photos of us party people, have a look at → Wundercurves! :)

Public Desire heels, Claudia Canova clutch,

I mostly show you my daytime or event looks and usually they’re rather classic (yet extravagant), but this time, I want to show you a sexy night-out look. ;)

Since I really loved Beth Ditto’s first collection, I had to buy a last piece of it. Especially because I’ve got → the “Lola” dress and know how amazing it fits and looks and that it is probably the only tight dress with a pencil skirt cut that works with my figure, I ordered the “Lola” skirt some time ago. Pencil skirts have always been something I’ve avoided because I know that their cut isn’t made for my waist-to-hip ratio and they look like a sack because they’re not tight enough at the legs for the real pencil skirt look. So when I got the dress and saw how great it was, I decided to get the skirt when it was finally a bit cheaper (since I got so many pieces of the collection, it was about time I saved some money). The whole collection is now on its final sale and it’s almost completely sold out (the skirt is only still available in sizes 24 and 26!), so if you waited for the lowest price to get something, you gotta order now before the next collection comes in. ;)

The body is definitely a daring piece and yes, I know that my boobs aren’t as perfect as many would like to see them when wearing such a low neckline. But let me tell you: I’m happy like this. I love this look, I love my breasts (even though they’re seriously not easy when it comes to bra shopping – but → here’s a shopping tip for everyone in or coming to Hamburg!) and I like showing them packed or rather unpacked like this. I don’t get why women are forced to look like in a magazine, where everything’s photoshopped in order not to look saggy or lumpy, where women are retouched to look “unreal” and unreachable so we think that we’re not okay as we are and have to go on diets, work out more than before and maybe even do plastic surgery because that’s the last option to achieve this look. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that I’m against the “optimization” of ourselves, but I want you to know and understand that we don’t have to feel forced to look like something we’re not. And we don’t have to feel bad when we look at those pictures of women who look “perfect” while we can be perfect for ourselves by simply accepting that we’re great – just as we are.

And since I’ve been writing about boobs: take care of yours. It’s breast cancer awareness month and even though I’m not doing a special post about it, I want to spread awareness and tell you to always check your breasts for knots and lumps. I like to do it under the shower, just take two minutes and palpate them for any abnormalities. It’s important to do this regularly so you know your breasts and feel when something’s wrong. When diagnosed early, breast cancer has good chances for cure, so take your time and care for yourself. Do it today and make sure everything’s fine!

For my second look for Anna Scholz for sheego, I teamed up with my blogger friend → Jules. Not only do we want to show you how one dress can look on different bodies (even though we’re not shaped that differently) and how both colors will look worn, but we also want to show you how amazing supporting each other can be. And I think that our result is something to be proud of! ;)

Blogging has become some kind of “lone battle”, we all do the same but do it on our own. I remember the good old times of blogging, when we were much more connected, not only behind the scenes but also visibly on our blogs (shame on me too, I know, I don’t have a blog roll anymore…). When tagging other bloggers in posts (for example when someone had already blogged about the same dress, product or event) was something completely natural. Nowadays, it has somehow become an “I don’t want to share my followers” problem, as if you’d lose your own followers when you send them over to someone else. This is sad and I’ve always put a link to other bloggers when I had a post in which you can see them – because it still is natural for me.

And there are so many positive things that happen when we support each other, when we stand up for each other. We’re not supposed to work against each other but lift each other up. Women in general are somehow pretty competitive when it comes to other women – I don’t even get where this came from, but we kind of live in a world where another woman quickly becomes a rival. When she’s prettier than you, when she’s more successful than you, when she earns more money than you, when she’s got more followers than you,… Sharing is caring, as well as supporting is caring. And if Jules and I can show you that blogging together can work out, maybe we’re an example for you that it all works. That together we can move something. We both stand for the same message: #bodypositivity and #plussizepower.

And together we want to empower you to show your inner goddess – in this dress, but also in any other situation. Being plus size is nothing to feel bad about and you can definitely show yourself. And this is another message we have for everyone out there: if you don’t like what you see, just suck it up. Because you won’t make someone else feel better by telling them not to wear this or that, just because you aren’t ready for it. Every day, we experience women (especially other fat women – and this is super sad!) telling other women that they can’t wear this because it is “unflattering”, or they keep spreading other “fat clichés” (e.g. “don’t wear stripes”), just because they have been taught all their lives that fat women can’t be stylish, can’t be gorgeous, can’t look amazing and actually believe that being fat is something you have to hide. Please stop thinking like this and please don’t drag other women down with you – that’s not supportive. Accept that other people might be ready to live and feel good, fat or not. And one day you’ll hopefully change your mind and understand that we all are trying to support you too, trying to show you that you don’t have to be oppressed by the society’s ideal. This is what we’re fighting for!

But let’s not forget the dress – this one is → a lovely velvet dress which is available in black and petrol blue. Velvet is a major thing right now and you can do nothing wrong with this dress, which combines that fabric with lace sleeves (and they’re also a bit velvety). I’m usually between a EU size 44 and 46 in the Anna Scholz for sheego dresses (the → blouse dress from my last lookbook post was a size 46), this time I’m wearing a 44 because it fits a bit more loosely in 46. That’s why I went for the smaller size. It’s also helpful to size down if you don’t have a big bust because it’s pretty loose in the front. But you can simply help yourself by pinning it from the inside with a safety pin or a few stitches – for me, it luckily worked without anything. Jules is wearing a size 46 and you can read more about it on her blog. :)
