• Review | Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani – Lips & Cheeks •

It’s time for another beauty review! I already reviewed the → Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette and today I’ve got almost all colors of the lipstick and lip liner range for you, plus a first glance at the blush palette.

Since the eye shadows that Gwen created with Urban Decay were mostly neutral, I was expecting the lip colors to be bright and colorful. Actually, the collection has a lot of red shades, plus some pink and nude, and – of course! – it includes the absolutely typical Gwen color: a wonderful, bright and matte red. The → lip liner colors match those of the lipsticks, so actually nothing that’s too interesting, but they’re good and extremely long-lasting (with a bit of a stain effect), so that’s all I want to say in this review.

The → blush palette is probably the most varied piece of the whole Gwen Stefani collection, since the colors are pretty different, with different finishes. But, as is the case with the eye shadow palette, there are a few neutrals. For fair skin like mine, this palette is also good for contouring, so this is a small bonus point. ;)

It’s almost Valentine’s Day and I’ve got the perfect dress for those of you who plan to go out for a luxurious romantic dinner for two. :) And by “I’ve got one”, I literally mean that I’ve got one for you, because one of you can win this dress in her size, just in time for Valentine’s Day on Sunday. :)

Like every dress from Scarlett & Jo, this is another perfect curve-hugging dress. Made of soft lace that falls beautifully around the legs (love the fishtail!), it makes your figure look stunning (I’m sure you can all see what I mean!). This time, I went for a UK size 18, just because I wanted it not to be too tight around my hips, and it was a good choice. So if you have wide hips like me, you should consider buying it a size up – or if you’re the happy winner, just tell me the size you need. ;)

Here’s how to win:

1 • like → Scarlett & Jo on Facebook – you can also like my Facebook page → here, but that’s optional. ;)

and 2 • leave a comment here under this blog post (if you don’t comment via Facebook, please make sure to leave your e-mail address, which won’t be visible to everyone, just me – so I can contact you afterwards) telling me what you’d love to do on Valentine’s Day, all that 3 • by tomorrow, Tuesday, February 9 (so the winner can receive the dress by Saturday!)

The winner is Vanessa Myslinski – congrats!

I already wrote about → my visit to the Curvy® plus-size fair, today I’ve got my outfit for you. I went for a special but casual look – instead of wearing black (which is the most-seen color at such events), I wanted to show some color (remember my resolutions for 2016? Take this as an example! ;)), that’s why I chose my favorite skirt ever, the “Eyoma” skirt from Dearcurves – and it was a major success at the fair, everyone loved it! If you want to get your own skirt, you can order it → here and by using the discount code queen20, you’ll get 20% off! ;)

When I last wore the skirt, I went for the actual lookbook look and paired it with the “Eyoma” body with a traditional Ankara print, so this time I dug up a veeeery old piece out of my closet. The body is from the 2009 “Divided Exclusive” collection (and it’s size EU 40, still fits without any problems!), so you see: sometimes keeping things and wearing them again is worth it – I think that’s a great match!

For the casual look, I had to choose flats. Since it doesn’t matter which kind of flat shoes you wear for about 6 hours of standing and walking around (your feet will always hurt afterwards, as did mine), I did something that’s quite unusual for me: I wore sneakers. But of course not without being fabulous and picking my sequined Chucks – had to be sparkling. :) I’m normally totally against that mixture, but somehow I really loved the combo of those glittering shoes with the rather elegant look. And it shows that you can wear this skirt like that – casually – too.

And we’re back with another gorgeous skirt! This is a very special piece from a lovely person named Karissa which took a loooong time to finally reach me – but that’s okay, good things always take a little longer (and it was an exception because the actual fabric – turquoise and pink – got lost on its way to Karissa and I had to choose another one), right? You can find her clothes on → etsy.
I guess I have to stop talking about my passionate love for African prints, I don’t want to bore you, so all I want to say is that this skirt is won-der-ful! Karissa was so kind to make it as a custom order for me, since she actually makes a dress out of that fabric but I wanted a skirt. :) It fits like a glove and is perfectly finished.

Of course, such an amazing skirt needs a great frame, that’s why I chose some basics in off-white and black, plus some very special killer ankle boots from Casadei, which are thrifted (but were almost unworn) and were on sale – one of my → lucky shoe sale finds. ;) These boots are incredibly comfy, even though they’re extremely high (but that’s a great bonus for dwarfy me), and don’t they just look amazeballs?
