Exploring new little beaches in Hamburg is a lot of fun – especially when you have to climb over a fence (oops!) and down many rocks (wearing flip flops). But sometimes it’s worth it and you’ll find a tiny beach just for you – with nobody disturbing your shooting just before sunset. And only a few minutes before this beach got flooded pretty quickly. You can probably imagine how quickly we climbed back up all the rocks in order to stay dry. ;)

Funny story behind this look: my top is actually a beach towel from when I was little. When we last visited my parents, I had a look at the stuff I had left there and found it – the tie-dye print is way too beautiful (just as the memories!) to leave it unworn and so I came up with the idea to wear it as a crop top, wrapping it around my bust and neck and tadaaa: fits again! ;)
I also wanted to wear a turban again and found another piece I had already forgotten. Isn’t this scarf a perfect match to the top? And to round up that blue look, I put on my blue sunnies and some tiny turquoise earrings. Good to go! Even though I would have worn some sneakers instead of flip flops if I’d known that I’d go climbing. ;) Still there’s nothing better than walking barefoot in the sand and just staying there with your feet in the water, sinking in a little more, wave by wave…

This is my first full-sized NAKED palette from Urban Decay (I’ve already got a small one, the → “NAKED 2 Basics” palette) and I must say: this one is definitely worth the hype. I wasn’t very interested in the three NAKEDs before – just because even though I love a good nude eye shadow, I didn’t find them special enough to buy one. Also, especially as a blogger, I’ve got a huge collection of eye shadows, including many nude shades, that’s why I just didn’t feel the need to own one.
Last week, I was invited to the launch event of the palette in Berlin and Urban Decay sure know how to throw a great party, but also how to create an incredibly wonderful palette full of different smoky shades from nudes (had to be, right) to greyish tones to an oily black (my favorite!). It even includes a dark purple smoky shade and a matte smoked khaki. You can find shimmering, satin and matte finishes plus a double-sided synthetic brush (one side is a small eye shadow brush, the other one is perfect for blending – just what you need with this smoky palette!).

If there’s one fashion thing that I always repeat, it’s combining black with some colorful details. Black is definitely the most fashionable color – it works for any occasion, fits everyone and always looks classy (or just the way you want it!).

Today, I’m combining black with a longer midi skirt with a colorful brush strokes print. The skirt was instantly sold out at H&M, so unfortunately there’s only one chance for you to (maybe) get it: get up early at around 5 am and have a look at the online shop – that’s when they re-fill their stock and almost everything is available in all sizes.

Of course I couldn’t resist adding some special details like my heels and the glittering sunnies from Miu Miu. I also tried something new: wearing my shoulder bag as a fanny pack. I still think that’s a great idea (especially if you’re not carrying too much stuff around with you) and gives the whole look that very special last touch. Fancy meets classy. Definitely me! :)
