I am so incredibly happy to finally share this very special editorial with you! It’s been such a lovely day at the beginning of May – perfect summer weather, perfect wedding conditions! ;)

This post is dedicated to all future curvy brides and to my husband who finally had the chance to see (and photograph) his wife not only in one beautiful wedding dress but three, even though we “just” had a civil wedding. Maybe another day… ;)

I’ve teamed up with → Vollkommen.Braut. – our local “Curvy Bridal Concept Store” in Hamburg – for a very special collab: we want to show you that being plus-size doesn’t mean you have to lose weight to wear the dress of your choice, that you can’t wear an actual wedding dress on your big day. You don’t need to give up feeling like a princess, wearing loads of tulle and lace. And you definitely don’t need to wear one of these little jackets or let the tailor add some sleeves to your favorite dress.

You’re the bride – it’s your choice. And you can’t imagine what an overwhelming feeling it is to step outside in such a stunning dress, all ready to say “I do.” and spend one of the most amazing days of your life. Never let anyone dull your sparkle you’ll have when you’re all happy in one of these dresses. And don’t you dare to say “I wish I could wear such a dream, but I’m too fat!” cause you’re not. Believe me, you’ll regret it when you don’t do what your heart wants you to do (or in this case: to wear).

The selection of plus-sized bridal dresses isn’t as small as you’d think – there are so many gorgeous dresses, you’ll probably go crazy when you see them all. My favorite brand has to be Callista and → Vollkommen.Braut. is Germany’s exclusive retailer of their creations. So if you’re not sure where to go to find YOUR dress – book a short trip to Hamburg with your girls, spend a lovely afternoon with the ladies of Vollkommen.Braut. and celebrate your bachelorette party in this wonderful town! :)

Finally – here’s the look I wore to my best friend’s wedding! :) It’s been a tough decision between many looks and I’m still super happy that I chose this one. I think it’s just perfect for a wedding, since the colors are light and cheerful, the floral print is a classic, and it’s still in some way casual enough (thanks to the simple shirt) and doesn’t catch too much attention. I just had to wear flats because of the unsteady ground (the wedding party was also outside) and went for → my own wedding shoes, the flat Chanel pearl sandals, which also looked cute with the outfit (and matched the pearl earrings). ;)

ENI saw this kind of post a while ago on → Mirela’s blog – isn’t this an adorable idea? As I was more of a beauty blogger for a long time, I have many beauty products and actually remember many of “our” stories. Sure, there are many PR samples too, but these are part of my history. :)

I’d also love to read your stories – so please feel free to share them with me in the comments!

ENThere’s something about floral dresses that instantly makes me feel like it’s summer. Actually, it was pretty hot and totally felt like summer when we shot these pictures yesterday, so it was the perfect day for this dress.
When navabi added → Ariella to their collection (you should have a look if you’re invited to any weddings this season!), my heart made a major jump because of this particular dress. Unfortunately, not only I had fallen in love – my size was already sold out. Now there are only a few sizes left, so if you fell in love too: hurry and → get it before it’s all gone! I recommend choosing a size up as the dresses from Ariella run a little small. Here, I’m wearing a US size 18 which is way too big for me, especially at the bust (I could fit my breasts in there about three times – by the way: it’s lined and you won’t need a bra underneath as there are even corset bones inside!). I somehow managed to make it fit a little bit better with a waist belt, but unfortunately that’s not the right solution for such a gorgeous dress (and for its price, it should fit without any problems, right?), even though I wish I could keep it. But this time, it was only a loan for our shooting and until my size is hopefully available again (let’s pray for it!), I’ll keep looking at these pictures and falling in love over and over again… ;)
