Here we go – time for the first “real” outfit of the new year! I’ve saved this dress for a special post because it’s so amazing! When the Kenzo x H&M collection was launched, I was pretty sad that there were only the usual “small” sizes available – but there were a few oversized pieces which could definitely been bought and worn by plus-sized women. Like this dress! This is a EU size 40 and still huge enough for me to wear it like it’s supposed to be worn – oversized. It’s also my favorite print of the collection and I love the combination with black.
While I usually love wearing figure-hugging clothes or add a belt to make them look like it, this time, I felt like wearing a belt would ruin the whole look (even though it’s kind of cool too), so I went for the original style and yes, I love it. I feel like as a plus-sized woman people will keep saying that wearing something oversized isn’t flattering, while they’ll also scream when you can see my body (happens all the time…). So there’s no way to please everyone – and it shouldn’t be your primary mission when dressing. So here’s a resolution for the new year: if you like it – wear it. Nothing new on this blog, but I feel like I can’t say it often enough – and I want you all to promise me that you’ll stick to this resolution! Stop wearing stuff recommended by people who don’t even know you (uh, magazines – forget them!) just to please them. Stop wearing stuff that you think will make people stop thinking badly of you when you don’t even like the clothes. If you feel like wearing something that draws attention to you – wear it! If you feel like wearing something oversized that will make you look huge – wear it! If you feel like wearing something that will show every little chubby part of your body – wear it! It’s your choice – never forget this! ♥

Oh, ich liebe dieses Kleid an dir! Ich fand die Kollektion wieder sehr schön, aber wie immer nicht sehr plussizefreundlich :(
Da hast du leider Recht – das sind die Designerkollektionen nie. :( Aber dafür waren hier ein paar Teile in oversize dabei, die – wenn man drüber wegsehen will – dann doch gar nicht mal so übel sind. ;)
Es wäre wirklich schön, wenn es vielleicht mal wieder eine “Inclusive”-Kollektion gäbe…
Liebe Lu, der Mantel ist der absolute Knaller. Da sehe ich, dass man sich auf Klassiker immer wieder verlassen kann, und an solch hochwertigen Teilen lange Freude hat. Ich wünsche dir ein gesundes und erfolgreiches Neues Jahr und weiterhin so viel Spaß am Bloggen, wie ich beim Ansehen deiner Videos habe! Mein Vorsatz für dieses Jahr ist, den Mut zu haben, eins von den Traummodellen von Scarlett and Jo zu bestellen. Leider bin ich nicht so geübt bei Online-Bestellungen außerhalb Deutschlands, da werde ich mir Hilfe holen.
