Ice princess or Game of Thrones Winterfell queen? ❄️ Either way, I think blue lips are a great thing and should be worn more often. 👌🏻 Find this look on the blog {link in bio}! #plussize #plussizeoutfit #plussizeblogger #luziehtan #celebratemysize #honormycurves #effyourbodystandards | 📷 @jfcreations.photography

Just an elevator fun shot. ✌🏻 And another proof of my life as a #T1D - insulin pump tucked in between my boobs and the @dexcom popping through the fabric on my belly. 😅 But my life would be so much worse without both, so why hide them? ♥️ This outfit will be soon up on the blog thanks to a lovely collab with the amazing peeps from @wundercurves.de, so stay tuned! 😘 #plussize #plussizeoutfit #plussizeblogger #luziehtan #celebratemysize #honormycurves #effyourbodystandards | 📷 @jfcreations.photography [Werbung | Advertisement - cause I tagged the brands in the picture]

#behindthescenes of yesterday‘s shoot with @jfcreations.photography - we took some incredible pictures yesterday and then I got to read a horrible article on @welt and I’m sad to see that tolerance is still something that we need to learn more than urgently. I wrote an open letter to the author of the article, @inga_griese and I hope she’ll read it and also see this picture of me, cause hell yeah, I’m fat and I’m proud and I love myself and by showing me being like this and existing, I want to empower other women and let them know that they’re amazing! Body positivity is not about “glorifying obesity” (major eye rolling here!), it’s about letting people be happy with themselves and feel confident, even if you don’t like what you see. 🖤 #plussize #plussizeblogger #luziehtan #celebratemysize #honormycurves #effyourbodystandards | 📷 @jfcreations.photography

Yeah, I’m currently doing a few series, I guess. There’s not only one piece missing in my Marina Rinaldi x Stella Jean trilogy but I also still had this amazing crop top from H&M’s last designer collaboration in my closet waiting for spring – so here we are! :)

Even though we’ve been fighting a lot for plus size acceptance (in fashion), crop tops are still an issue. I totally understand if it’s simply not someone’s taste to show your tummy, but it’s also important to accept if someone wants to wear cropped clothes – and yes, this also includes fat women. Because there’s no such thing as “this is only reserved for skinny girls”. ;)

I liked many pieces of the collection with Kenzo but this print was my favorite, that’s why I bought two pieces with it – this crop top and, as you already know, → this dress. I’ll definitely be wearing the dress again this spring/summer because it’s so light and easy to wear, but this top is also super cool and will be a great addition to any other skirt or jeans. We already had a few warm days here but it’s currently super disgusting outside, rainy and cold, and I really hope that the sun comes back as soon as possible – I can’t take this bad weather anymore!

I still have a few fall looks that I haven’t posted yet, so even though it’s already almost winter here, I don’t want to leave them unposted on my PC (by the way: yes, I do work on a PC, not a laptop – guess I’m not a typical blogger, huh?). Maybe where you live it’s still warm enough to use them as inspiration, and if not, just be creative and make them work for you (maybe with other boots, warm tights and a beanie?) or save them for next year. ;) There’s always a way! :)

That’s one of my #ruebabe looks I created with my surprise package from → Rue 107 – and again kind of a challenge, since cropped is not really the best choice in fall. But as I said: there’s always a way, and mine was to wear it with a chunky wool cardigan – cozy and warm, so don’t worry about the small stripe of skin! ;)

To be honest, I never would have chosen this skirt by myself – I’m not that “food on my clothes” kind of person, so my first thought was to just wear the shirt and store the skirt somewhere in my closet. But when I tried it on (I always do that before deciding – because everything [and everyone!!!] deserves a chance, and even though you may sometimes think that a piece isn’t made for you and won’t look good, it might become your best friend!), I really liked it. It’s cute and actually looks so nice in that combination (and especially the scenario with the colorful fallen leaves!), that I wouldn’t want to give it away! ;)

Not much time ago, there was this scandal about Oprah Magazine talking about crop tops and saying that you should feel free to try them “if (and only if!) you’ve got a flat stomach”. It caused a major shitstorm and made many – especially plus-sized – girls post pictures of them wearing crop tops with the hashtags #rockthecrop #pullingofacroptop #ifandonlyifiwantto. I joined this movement on → Instagram (and → Facebook) because I think that it’s not okay to tell someone what he or she is allowed to wear. That’s arrogant in many ways and not the right way for a magazine to give tips on how to dress.

I’m not willing to dress for anyone, especially not for total strangers. I dress for myself, wear what I like in this exact moment. And if that’s a crop top, I’ll wear it. Just like in this post today. I’m not wearing it to say: “Hey, I’m fat and I’m wearing a crop top!”, it has nothing to do with being a rebel. The thing is: I saw this top online, fell in love with the colors and the design and had to get it.
I enjoyed wearing it and while we were shooting the pictures – in front of many people – no one looked at me and had to throw up or told me that I was disgusting. No one came up to me and said that I should only wear a crop top with a flat tummy. No one was horrified and ran away.

What I want to say: when you wear what you want and add the right attitude (feel good!), nobody will ruin your day. Of course there might be some people looking at you, but always remember: some might be surprised, maybe because they don’t see fat people wearing such beautiful clothes that often (sadly!), maybe because they think you’re gorgeous, maybe because they wish they weren’t afraid of doing the same. Sure, some will look and shake their heads, giving you that evil look and making you feel like you’re a major piece of shit, but do you really want to take these strangers seriously? Will you let them tell you what you’re allowed to wear? Do you really want to depend on their opinion? Choose your daily look according to their wishes? Do you really want to dress yourself for a stranger? I’m sure the answer is: no.
You don’t have to wear a crop top, you don’t have to prove to anyone that you can rock a crop top. If you don’t like them, nobody’s forcing you to wear them. Just wear whatever you want, but please don’t listen to such bullshit tips that tell you how to dress – you’ve got your own mind, use it and be creative! :)
