I think this look is kind of unusual for me – not because of the whole style but because of the shirt. I usually don’t wear shirts with messages on them, but this time I couldn’t resist buying this tee because it says what I always tell you:

“you are your own beautiful”

I’ve already had this topic in → one of my “Private” posts, talking about “perfect” and how we can only define it for ourselves. It’s important that we understand that “beautiful” isn’t set in stone, it’s something that lies in the eye of the beholder, and we can only define it for ourselves because of our very own taste. Plus: “beautiful” isn’t only an adjective for the outer shell. A character can be so incredibly beautiful when it comes from a loving soul. Being beautiful doesn’t only mean pretty – you can be even more beautiful when you treat others with respect, tolerance and love.

Of course, this outfit is still a bit unusual for me because of the casual look. But still, the skirt is super sparkling – too bad the lighting outside swallowed all that colorful glitter (the skirt looks purple but the glitter is blue, golden and pink) which makes it all special enough for my taste. :)

Here we go – time for the first “real” outfit of the new year! I’ve saved this dress for a special post because it’s so amazing! When the Kenzo x H&M collection was launched, I was pretty sad that there were only the usual “small” sizes available – but there were a few oversized pieces which could definitely been bought and worn by plus-sized women. Like this dress! This is a EU size 40 and still huge enough for me to wear it like it’s supposed to be worn – oversized. It’s also my favorite print of the collection and I love the combination with black.

While I usually love wearing figure-hugging clothes or add a belt to make them look like it, this time, I felt like wearing a belt would ruin the whole look (even though it’s kind of cool too), so I went for the original style and yes, I love it. I feel like as a plus-sized woman people will keep saying that wearing something oversized isn’t flattering, while they’ll also scream when you can see my body (happens all the time…). So there’s no way to please everyone – and it shouldn’t be your primary mission when dressing. So here’s a resolution for the new year: if you like it – wear it. Nothing new on this blog, but I feel like I can’t say it often enough – and I want you all to promise me that you’ll stick to this resolution! Stop wearing stuff recommended by people who don’t even know you (uh, magazines – forget them!) just to please them. Stop wearing stuff that you think will make people stop thinking badly of you when you don’t even like the clothes. If you feel like wearing something that draws attention to you – wear it! If you feel like wearing something oversized that will make you look huge – wear it! If you feel like wearing something that will show every little chubby part of your body – wear it! It’s your choice – never forget this! ♥

And here’s another new friend – the amazing jeans from sheego I wore on the catwalk at the → Plus Size Fashion Days! These pants are SO amazing, I was absolutely stunned when I put them on for the first time. I usually wouldn’t choose the biker style for myself, but I kind of liked it when I “had” to wear it and got used to it. ;) I actually wanted to buy these jeans in blue too, but they were sold out, so now I’m hoping that they come back so I can get another pair. ;)

These are petite length, which means: perfect for me, as I’m only 5’3” – I’m always happy when I find brands who do shorter lengths because that’s always a minus when I finally find a good pair of jeans or pants in general.

You may remember that in April, I went to the → blogger event at the Murek Hamburg headquarters (P.S.: they’ve got an online shop now!) and we got to choose our favorite pieces from the fall/winter collection. This coat is one of three gorgeous jackets I chose and it was also a bloggers’ favorite. I guess we all put it on our wish list. :)

Before I show you the last outfit of my Anna Scholz for sheego lookbook, I’ve got an exclusive denim look for you that I styled in collaboration with sheego. This is actually kind of an official sheego look which I just altered with my own ideas – I didn’t even know it (guess I should apply as a brand stylist, haha!) until I saw my dear → Jules wearing it. ;)

I know that culottes aren’t everybody’s darling. People still stick to the opinion that they’re not flattering, especially when you’re short and/or fat. The thing is: yes, they’re probably not the most flattering piece of clothing one can own, but they’re super stylish and as long as you don’t just dress to look thinner (and in my opinion, that’s the only way that we have to erase from our minds because that’s not the number-one purpose of fashion!), you’re gonna love them. :) They’re comfy and so versatile (you all know my → classic black culottes and I’ve already shown you → more statement-like denim culottes before – these ones are → pretty basic and that’s what I like about them!).

For today’s look, I wanted to do something unusual and a bit 70s and modern hippie themed. So when I found the → paisley blouse and the → fuzzy vest (fake fur, as always!), I already had the whole look in my head. Just add a cool pair of → boots because it’s fall (those have an amazing detail, which is the block heel in red tortoise!), a floppy hat and round sunnies. Funny story: the belt I’m wearing is actually the one that comes with the vest, but since I wanted to wear the vest without it, I thought it would look great as a little contrast detail for the jeans. ;)
