Yeah, I’m currently doing a few series, I guess. There’s not only one piece missing in my Marina Rinaldi x Stella Jean trilogy but I also still had this amazing crop top from H&M’s last designer collaboration in my closet waiting for spring – so here we are! :)

Even though we’ve been fighting a lot for plus size acceptance (in fashion), crop tops are still an issue. I totally understand if it’s simply not someone’s taste to show your tummy, but it’s also important to accept if someone wants to wear cropped clothes – and yes, this also includes fat women. Because there’s no such thing as “this is only reserved for skinny girls”. ;)

I liked many pieces of the collection with Kenzo but this print was my favorite, that’s why I bought two pieces with it – this crop top and, as you already know, → this dress. I’ll definitely be wearing the dress again this spring/summer because it’s so light and easy to wear, but this top is also super cool and will be a great addition to any other skirt or jeans. We already had a few warm days here but it’s currently super disgusting outside, rainy and cold, and I really hope that the sun comes back as soon as possible – I can’t take this bad weather anymore!

Here we go – time for the first “real” outfit of the new year! I’ve saved this dress for a special post because it’s so amazing! When the Kenzo x H&M collection was launched, I was pretty sad that there were only the usual “small” sizes available – but there were a few oversized pieces which could definitely been bought and worn by plus-sized women. Like this dress! This is a EU size 40 and still huge enough for me to wear it like it’s supposed to be worn – oversized. It’s also my favorite print of the collection and I love the combination with black.

While I usually love wearing figure-hugging clothes or add a belt to make them look like it, this time, I felt like wearing a belt would ruin the whole look (even though it’s kind of cool too), so I went for the original style and yes, I love it. I feel like as a plus-sized woman people will keep saying that wearing something oversized isn’t flattering, while they’ll also scream when you can see my body (happens all the time…). So there’s no way to please everyone – and it shouldn’t be your primary mission when dressing. So here’s a resolution for the new year: if you like it – wear it. Nothing new on this blog, but I feel like I can’t say it often enough – and I want you all to promise me that you’ll stick to this resolution! Stop wearing stuff recommended by people who don’t even know you (uh, magazines – forget them!) just to please them. Stop wearing stuff that you think will make people stop thinking badly of you when you don’t even like the clothes. If you feel like wearing something that draws attention to you – wear it! If you feel like wearing something oversized that will make you look huge – wear it! If you feel like wearing something that will show every little chubby part of your body – wear it! It’s your choice – never forget this! ♥

Today’s look is all about that navy blue combo, consisting of the bralette and midi skirt. The skirt is extremely awesome, since it’s pretty heavy and therefore falls very nicely (and in one of the pictures it somehow even looks like culottes – and I like it!). The bralette can be worn differently, you don’t need to cross it in front, it’s actually a simple halterneck top, but I decided that for this look it looked even better crossed. :)

It was still pretty warm when we shot these pictures (in November, oops!), but already cold enough to need a jacket. The blazer was exactly what I needed that day (I’m actually a bit more unsusceptible to cold temperatures than average), but now it will definitely start to get warmer – depending on where you live or are right now. ;)

ENThe jacket that started it all… Actually, I should stop writing about my TK Maxx escapades as it’s probably becoming pretty boring – but I think it’s okay to talk about the first piece, right? It was my first visit to the store and I instantly found something so beautiful! Love at first sight (I mean, it’s green, I just couldn’t resist!), only one button that was a little loose (at home, I immediately fixed it), Kenzo (well, that’s self-explanatory) and more than half the price off – mine! :) Since that day, I love to browse through the “Gold Label” section, searching for designer pieces (shame on me, when I was little, clothing from discount stores was absolutely enough – but fashion is what you make of it!) which are affordable. :) That’s not always that easy with bigger sizes (as I’ve seen it, there seem to be many sample-sized clothes, but plus-sized stuff is mostly “second-class quality” or has some small defects), but from time to time you can really find some little treasures – or you can fastidiously scan the sunglasses section (yup, I’m a freak, but you know me – I love sunglasses!) and dig up something from Dior or Givenchy (but actually those are soooo “last season”, like from ten years ago, and really not looking good anymore). Okay, I have to confess that TK Maxx made me a little brand whore – but only to combine designer pieces with H&M, Zara and Co., or other great bargains (like this post’s bag!). So here we are: today’s outfit…

When I go shopping, I don’t just buy anything because it’s cheaper and/or from a designer. I like to think about (before buying) how I can combine it. Best case scenario: I come up with three outfits. Buying something to wear it only once is pretty stupid (and I don’t have that much money left to constantly buy new stuff and only wear it once for a few hours and then hide it in my closet). So I instantly had a dress combo in mind for my Kenzo darling – of course it had to be black for an appropriate appearance. :) But I still have another two ideas, one including jeans and another one with a dress. Anyways, I wanted to bring in another color and went for orange, which I think goes just perfectly with green, and that’s how I completed my look with my mini bag, for which I removed the shoulder strap to make it look more lady-like instead of “kindergarten” (the bag is small enough for that association, right?). :)
