After my → first #plussizepower post with Jules, today I’ve got something very special for you with my dear friend → Claus. We’ve been wanting to shoot together since we first met → at the Plus Size Fashion Days last year. I’m so proud that he keeps saying that I inspired him to start his own blog, together with some of my fellow blogger girls who also were on the catwalk at the PSFD, and I’m even prouder to see how successful he already is – not only as a blogger but also as a male plus-size model, something we keep forgetting when talking about plus-size acceptance. It’s not only about women but also about men. Fat people struggle every day, no matter what gender. That’s why it is so important to also have male plus bloggers and models to represent “us” – and that’s why I’m so happy to do this outfit post together with Claus!

These were our looks at this year’s Plus Size Fashion Days for Happy Size. They had already chosen me to walk for them last year, and this year I was on the catwalk for them twice – once in this amazing street style look, and right afterwards just in black underwear for their “BodyLove” project with Silvana Denker. But I’ll tell you more about it all soon (only waiting for the video, which should go online these days, I think).

I’d like to tell you how amazing it is that Claus chose this outfit for me and how much I like it. He knows me pretty well and even though this cool style wouldn’t be something I’d pick myself, I felt great in this outfit – and still like myself. Maybe also because I added my own touch with the hat. ;) But all in all, this look is so good! And comfy. A feel-good look! The dress (size 44) – I love it! – and jacket (size 44) fit true to size, the clutch is super versatile (you can wear it as a cross body and also unfolded) and even the necklace (you know me, I don’t wear them usually) is a nice accessory which rounds up the whole look. The boots and the hat are my own and definitely two classics everybody should have because they go well with so many outfits! ;)

You can read everything about → Claus’ look on his blog – I’m sure it’s super inspirational for all male body types, a stylish and comfy everyday look which I really like! And don’t we just look great together? ;)

I promised you → last time that there would be more outfits with this dress coming – here’s my favorite version, because you can see the dress in full bloom (what a pun, haha!) with not too many accessories (but my favorites!). I don’t think there’s much to say. I’m still very much in love with this dress, it’s just perfect. :)
We also already shot the third look I had planned with it and now I’ll have to be creative again if I want to post more looks with it. ;) Can’t wait!

Fashion is fun – at least that’s how I see it. I love trying new things, getting experimental and mixing stuff, being someone else every day. One day I’m girly and retro, the other day I wear sporty sneakers and look rather casual. Actually, I don’t know how to call today’s style, it’s definitely a crazy mixture: sheer body, casual dress and suede sneakers with a metal toe cap. It’s not a typical Lu style but I totally love it, even though it’s been hard for me to wear sneakers with my dress. Gosh, I think whenever someone asks me about fashion faux pas, I always mention white boots and pairing sneakers with dresses – but normally I mean floral summer dresses, at least this one is pretty minimal and therefore not THAT bad, right? And even white boots can look pretty cool, depends on your style and your attitude! ;)

So, how did this happen? I wanted to find something different for my sneakers – I fell in love with them the second I spotted them online. Actually, I love sneakers, I just don’t really like wearing them, I think they don’t look that good on me. But there are so many wonderful designs – like this one. That’s why I wanted to give them a special “setting”. :)

I also wanted to style the dress in another way – you’ve already seen my Kardashian version → here, very feminine and curvy, so today it’s totally casual. Since it’s pretty cold already, no sleeves were no option, and with a jacket the dress looked totally awkward, don’t know why. But I had the idea of wearing a body underneath – with some special sleeves. On top, I found this hat from my grandmother last time we visited my parents and thought it was pretty cool, and it made the outfit complete.

I think it’s really something different, especially if you know me and my looks, but that’s the point: be creative! That’s what fashion is for. It’s okay to stay in your “comfort zone”, it’s okay to prefer flattering clothes and it’s okay if you don’t want to get crazy, but: it’s also okay to break out of your “comfort zone”, it’s okay to say “eff flattering” and wear whatever you want, and it’s absolutely okay to get crazy. There are no rules, no limits, no actual fashion faux-pas. You’re free!
